Crown Block

Specifications

The Crown Block is designed for 650 tons static hook load capacity with 14 lines strung to the traveling block. The fast-line runs outside the mast and the deadline runs inside the mast on off-drawworks/off-driller corner. The crown is oriented so that the flat side of the traveling block faces the derrick-man. The crown has the following features:

Working cluster of seven (7) 60" API-8C sheaves grooved for 1-1/2" wire line mounted 12" sheave pin, on heavy duty tapered roller bearings.
One (1) fast-line 60” API-8C sheave grooved for 1-1/2 " wire line mounted on 12” pin and tapered roller bearing.
Centralized grease manifold shall be provided for independent bearing lubrication.
Crown platform with expanded metal flooring and handrails.
Crown bumper with combination rubber and steel energy absorption design.
Multiple Pad-eyes for hanging tugger sheaves, tong line block and hang-off line for traveling equipment.
Crown to be designed with opening for the DSC cylinders and fit the existing mast top opening of 18’ x 8’-3”.

Specially designed heavy duty crown bumper with the following:

Consists of 3 tiers of energy absorption
Comprised of a combination of rubber & steel
Capable of absorbing 60,000 lb of impact force
All steel is galvanized
Safety chains and expanded metal provided to prevent any possible broken pieces from falling down to the drill floor in case of an accident
