Rig Moving Superintendent at Brady Welding
on the Rocket Rig
"I've moved a lot of rigs, different styles, different types. There's a lot of difference in the way [Rocket Rigs] are set up from the inside spreaders, the floor, and your derrick - it's all different. [The Rocket Rig is] more unique, more compact, easier to handle, easier to take care of. Everything goes smoother with these style of rigs. We like it. I mean I'd rather move [Rocket Rigs] than any other box on box or any other types."

Tool Pusher at Cactus Drilling
on the Rocket Rig
"They got a simple design... where you're not having to put pieces on top of pieces on top of pieces. The track is already made into the derrick. You don't have to add pieces on top of pieces and you're not having to put guys in between pieces of metal and trying to get it all put together."
"And it makes it a lot safer, a lot easier. It takes a lot less time to put them together, to rig them down, to work on them. It's a lot better."

Project Manager at Cactus Drilling Co.
on the Rig Walker
At Cactus, we value high-quality equipment and cutting edge technology… and we understand their significance in tackling today’s complex drilling projects. The Rig Walker system has helped us successfully confront these challenges on multi-well pads, where its numerous features have proven tremendously advantageous.
Its robust lift capacity and smooth, effortless hydraulic operation allows us to lift and laterally move the entire structure in one of eight directions (in one foot increments). Operated by a single man, the system can move the rig to the next well with minimal preparation and without disconnecting power, and all of this can be done with the fully-assembled BOP stack hanging under the floor and with drill pipe racked up to full setback capacity. This eliminates the need to lay down drill pipe and results in less non-productive time between wells.
In a recent project, it took us 30 minutes from the time we finished testing the wellhead on the first well, walked the rig ten feet and were centered over the hole on the second well. Then, with surface casing preset, we nippled-up BOP’s and tested, picked up directional tools, made up BHA, MWD and bit, trip checked 38 joints of HWDP and jars on the way in the hole, tagged bottom, displaced water with oil-based mud, installed a rotating head, pressure tested casing and were drilling a new hole in 30 hours. These are real results attributable to the Rig Walker’s efficiency.
Cactus is committed to delivering maximum value for our customers, so we’re continuously exploring opportunities to enhance our performance potential, and the application of Veristic’s Rig Walker system has enabled us to do that by providing our clients with an added premium service that is a safe, reliable and highly-efficient alternative to conventional rig-skidding procedures.

Offshore Installation Manager at Rig "C. Kirk Rhein, Jr." of R&B Falcon (now Transocean)
on the PARS Racking Board
This is to inform you that the racking board that was fabricated for the C. Kirk Rein, Jr. for the 5 ½” pipe is working well. It is designed with safety in mind and all the derrick men like it, it allows us to rack pipe in any fashion we so desire and with the fingers designed it allows the hands to walk out on the board with confidence of not falling.
Thanks,
Wayne Bird, O.I.M.
